1. Place the transformer in a dry place such as a garage, maintenance room or under a roof. Secure the transformer with the additional screws provided.
2. Push a metal pin into the ground in the immediate vicinity of the transformer. Make sure that the metal dowel does not project more than 2 cm above the ground.
3. Connect one end of the green ground wire to the transformer's green connector, and attach the other end to the eyelet of the pin with the additional bolt and washer. If the wire is too long, you can shorten it as needed. This connection should be made at position "A" according to the illustration.
4. You can use the included synthetic stakes to install the fence around the pond. Place the pegs no more than 4 meters apart, and note that the uppermost hole of the peg should point toward the pond. The pegs should be pushed into the ground so that the bottom eye of the peg protrudes 10 cm out of the ground.
5. Thread the black electrical wire through the pegs, starting with the lowest holes. Make a knot at the end of the wire and pull the same wire through the top pegs, then make a knot at the end of the top wire as you did on the bottom wire. This connection will provide the connection between the lowest and highest wires. Stretch the wires so that the pegs do not move or come in contact with grass or other plants. The lowest wire is for keeping cats out of the pond and the highest wire is for deterring herons. This wire connection should be made at position "B" as shown in the figure.
6. Connect the red pulse wire to the red transformer socket and the other end of this wire to the lowest wire with the added connector. (position "C" in the figure)
7. When the transformer is connected to the power supply, the installation is considered complete. When the LED lamp on the transformer is turned on, the Pond Protector starts to function. You can verify the correct installation by touching the grass and feeling the electrical pulses. You can also see these pulses on the LED lamp on top of the transformer, which flashes with each pulse.
