Reciprocating compressors from SunSun do an excellent job of this task and are a better choice than diaphragm compressors. In open ponds, including in winter, they are widely used to maintain an open hole on the water surface and have a number of advantages over membrane compressors. Reciprocating compressors have higher capacity and lower cost, and are more resistant to low temperatures due to the use of a metal working piston.
