Phosphate Test Kit.
40 measurements.
PO4 Test (Phosphate) - helps to monitor the phosphate level of pond water. Phosphates are a product of the decomposition of organic matter that accumulates in pond water. Too high a concentration of phosphates can cause uncontrolled algae growth and sometimes diseases in fish.
Phosphate (chemically abbreviated PO4) is one of the products of fish life. Phosphate is not toxic to fish and therefore does not pose a direct problem for fish health (only in rare cases), like ammonia or nitrite. Indirectly, phosphate can lead to algae problems, since phosphate, like nitrate, is one of the main nutrients for algae and plants. Plants and algae compete with each other for nutrients, and unfortunately, plants cannot always win this competition. In this case, algae can grow and even explode. In a pond, this results in either cloudy green water or massive amounts of thread algae. In aquariums, algae can completely cover glass, rocks, and even plants, causing them to die. In a marine tank, algae can overgrow corals to the point that the corals suffocate and die. Although phosphate is generally non-toxic, it is highly desirable to keep levels low to prevent algae growth. In a pond, we recommend a threshold of 1.0 mg/L. High phosphate levels can be reduced with Colombo Phosphate-Ex.
How to test for PO4:
1. Take a 10 ml water sample.
2. Add 5 drops of PO4 -1 test liquid and shake.
3. Add 5 drops of PO4, -2 test liquid and shake again.
4. Add 2 scoops of phosphate powder (blue capped tube) and shake.
5. Wait 10 minutes.
6. Determine the PO4 value using the supplied color chart (Measuring range: 0-5 mg/L).
The package includes: 1 test tube and 2 dropper bottles with reagent, reagent in powder form and a special measuring scoop.
It is possible to measure the PO4 parameter 40 times.
