The principle of operation of the combined AquaKing Red Label filters is fundamentally no different from the operation of a conventional drum filter, only in the combined one there is still a biological filtration module and this whole system is assembled in one housing. Thus, one of the most effective solutions of the reservoir filtration system is implemented.
The combination filter consists mainly of a tank in which a rotating drum is placed: a filtering membrane mesh with a mesh size of 70 microns (0.07 mm) is fixed to the drum. Contaminated water from a reservoir is passed through this membrane and, passing through a filter, the water is cleaned of particles larger than 70 microns. Further, water purified in this way is supplied to the biological treatment chamber.
When dirt particles settle on the filter screen, it gradually becomes contaminated and the water flows through the filter decrease, which in turn leads to an increase in the water level in the filter intake chamber and a decrease in the water level in the filtered water chamber. When the level fluctuates, the sensor is activated and the drum cleaning mode starts. The engine rotates the drum slowly, and the nozzles rinse the net with clean water at a pressure of 5 bar. In this case, the dirt is washed out of the net and enters the drainage tray, from where it is then washed off into the sewer. The water level in the cells changes and the cleaning process automatically turns off.
Of the advantages of such filtration systems, the following should be noted:
1. Excellent water treatment with the fastest possible removal of dirt particles and their subsequent discharge into the sewer. In this case, dirt does not accumulate in the filter but does not saturate water with decay products.
2. Automatic cleaning of filter elements. The filter does not work in automatic mode and requires minimal intervention for maintenance or additional settings.
When choosing a filter for a pond, one has to take into account many different parameters, especially if the pond is designed to contain fish. Gravity or pumping methods of establishment, stainless steel or polypropylene, the presence or absence of a biological filter. But the most important parameter is the filter capacity, it should be remembered that the filter is never too productive - the higher its ducts, the better for the reservoir.
