A mechanical filter is needed to minimize the load on the biological filter. Such filters provide the required level of mechanical cleaning of pond water from dirt and are relatively inexpensive. However, sieve filters require constant maintenance and inspection, the frequency of which depends on the level of water contamination.
Filtreco filters can be connected to both the skimmer and the bottom intake. This method of connection will help to ensure good circulation of water in the reservoir. Optimal filter performance is achieved when using such tubes. But in practice, it is almost impossible to realize such a flow of water through the filter, so the possibility of access to different parts of the filter for washing and cleaning is realized. When solid, the large particles of dirt remain on it and the water flows freely. The filter mesh has a cell size of 300 microns, and for the last 5 centimeters the cell size is 200 microns. This size is optimal for filtering contamination and at the same time leaving nutrients in the water for beneficial pond bacteria. After passing through a sieve, water is usually fed into a biological filter, but in some cases it can be drained directly into the reservoir. A faucet is installed on the inlet pipe to block the water supply for filter maintenance. You can then wash off the dirt from the grid using a small amount of water. At the bottom of the filter grid there is a drainage hole for drainage of dirt, if necessary it can be connected directly to the sewer.
